Austin’s Live Cable Reels are designed to be pulled by a dozer in conjunction with movements of the dragline. The side-mounted boom allows a D-10 class dozer to pass under the cable while moving from one end of the cable handler to the other.
The cable reel pays out cable at a steady, safe tension as the dragline works its way down the cut. The cable handler can be activated to rewind the cable by remote control or at the reel.
Austin’s Shovel Live Cable Reels are attached to and pulled behind the shovel on pontoon runners protected by abrasion-resistant liner plates.
The cable reel automatically pays out cable as the shovel moves down the cut. When rewinding the cable, the shovel swings around and lifts the cable reel with the dipper. The operator or oiler can activate the reel by remote control or at the reel.
Austin’s Loader Mounted Cable Reels are designed to safely and efficiently pick up, lay down and store cable in and around a mining or construction project. Up to 609 m (2,000 feet) of 101 mm (4 inch) diameter cable can be neatly rolled onto one or several heavy-duty steel spools using the unique ‘Level Wind System’.
The cable reel easily adjusts to various diameters of cable and still allows room for couplers. Cable can be quickly and safely extended out over pit high walls, along haul roads and around the pit floor.
